Lord Jesus Christ
what a blessing it is to know you
as our risen Saviour
that time and space do not limit you
and you are present with us
all the days of our lives
even before we knew you
we thank you for the example of Ananias
who listened to your voice
even when the risk was high
we thank you for Saul
who you knew
even before he knew you
and used him
to your glory
help us to listen to your calling
that we may be used to your glory
Glorious King
the world around us is such a blessing
clean, fresh air
new leaves bursting forth
even rape fields
bring wondrous splashes of yellow across the landscape
we bless and praise you for all that is around us
and for all who work the land
foresters and farmers
crofters and gardeners
Nurturing One
we praise you for all who have nurtured us in our faith
and for those who take the gospel into the places which need your nurturing
schools and prisons
hospitals and oil rigs
the military and the factory
today, we especially recall the work of Workplace Chaplaincy Scotland
who support people shops and fire stations
local authority employees and posties
may they be a blessing
and may their words and actions
their presence with people
reveal whose they are and whom they serve
Jesus Christ
Christ our Lord
in a few moments of quiet, we continue our prayers
bringing those people, places and situations which are on our hearts and minds today
[pause]
Lord Jesus Christ
we know and trust you receive all these prayers
spoken and without words
offered through your glorious name
Amen
