Stars and dreams

From the east they came

to worship the one born King of the Jews

Born, not made, King

true King

for a star showed the way

A star showed a King had been born

which caused ructions in Herod’s palace

for he was not a true king

A star led those wise and learned men to the rightful King

and in worship and love

they gave gifts

gold for a King

Frankincense for a priest

Myrrh for death

The followed the star to greet and worship the true King

they knew the star’s meaning

and understood dreams when they came to them too

for the dreams warned them Herod was no king of theirs
