Almighty Father
Everlasting King
Lord of all creation
may and wonderful are your names
names you gave to humanity
to help us know you
worship you
proclaim you throughout the earth
for you are an awesome God
no one, nothing, in all of creation
is beyond your love
is far from your influence
what wonder it is that we
gathering in this place, at this time
know you a little
and long to know you more
love you a little
and long to love you more
may our songs, our prayers, our mediation on your Word
all we bring before your throne of grace today
be a holy sacrifice
made holy in your blessing our worship
by the power of the spirit
sweeping through us
All encompassing One
our hearts seek you
and for your face to shine upon us
do not withhold yourself from us
reveal to us your love
shown in and through Christ Jesus
who went to into the depths of death and hell
showing there’s nothing, nothing which can separate us from the love of God
even our vanity
our deceit
our trickery
all the many ways in which we sin against you, Lord God
collectively and on our own
do not condemn us, we pray
as we humbly seek your forgiveness
through the One who is at God the Father’s right hand
Christ Jesus
who intercedes on our behalves
that our sins are forgiven and we are set free
to become inheritors of the kingdom
Amen
