God creator
before the eons began
you were there
moulding and shaping the universe
from smallest quark
to nebulae
setting the laws of physics and chemistry into motion
what wonder this is
that among these billions of years
the many creatures which have come and gone
you come to us
in this time, in this place
through your Son, Christ Jesus
you come to us
and long for our devotion,
our love
which we offer anew this day
in response to the love you have shown us
you, our God
who has known us since before we were born
who made us
shaped us and
calls us to be your own
on wonder of all of this
we bow
in reverence and fear
at your throne of grace
recognising you know us so, so well
the good and the bad
and still you love us
and call us your children
Lord God
we confess our sin
in Christ may we be made new
and restored as the beloved family we are
that our worship and service
may reflect God’s love into the world
through Christ Jesus
