Gratitude
gratefulness
appreciation
we bring to you
Lord God
in some ways, it seems to inadequate
our thanks
but we know it’s right and proper to give thanks
even when we cannot ever repay what we’ve received
for all we have, we give you thanks
for our lives
for those who love us
for those who challenge us
for those who care for us
for those who build and maintain infrastructure
for those who uphold the law
for those who saves lives on land and sea
for those who resist injustice
for those who feed us
for those who clothe us
we offer our thanks today
for our siblings in Christ
both in this place
and across the world
we offer our thanks today
and especially recall those bereaved and injured in the church fire in Egypt last week
tend their wounds, bodies, minds and souls
we pray
Jesus
our friend and companion on the Way
we thank you that you are Lord
even of the Sabbath
may our actions, reflect that
we thank you for healing where we’ve received it
and ask you use us to bring healing
into your world
so those who are bent down
by oppression
can straighten up
and know they are loved
beyond imagining
through your mercy and love
Amen
