through the spirit’s stirring within and around us

our Lord and Master
make yourself known afresh to us this day
help us to remember whose we are and whom we serve
help us to remember that, though we may be pressed on every side
in your great love
we are not consumed;
for God’s compassions are new every morning
as the breaking the sun over the horizon
heralds a new day
the compassion of the Lord never never fails
it never fails
even when we have failed
failed to use the gifts we have to reveal the kingdom
failed to trust in God, God’s love and power
failed in thought, word, and deed
God’s compassion never fails
it is new every morning
this day
in the power and love of God
revealed in Christ Jesus
know you are forgiven
and receive anew the spirit’s power
in Jesus’ name we pray
