Oh, what a glorious dawn
One you have blessed, Lord God
for this is the day you have made
one we have waited on, expectantly
The day of the resurrection
this Easter day
may we rejoice and be glad in it.
Oh, what a glorious dawn
One you have blessed, Christ Jesus
in speaking tenderly to us, as you did to Mary
in comforting us
being compassionate to us
in loving us
through the power of the resurrection
where death is overcome
love revealed
for everyone
Oh, what a glorious dawn
One you have blessed, Holy Spirit
sweeping through our closed doors
entering the safety of our homes
and firing us full of joy this day
this day that was made
for us to enjoy
to love, to laugh, to praise God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One God, now and always
Oh, what a glorious dawn, Divine Trinity
may we celebrate this Easter day
in our homes, safe and secure in the knowledge
we are the church, the ones asked to tell the world:
“Christ is risen, he is risen indeed”
