For lengthening days
and sun on our faces
we give you our thanks and praise this day

for fields green with tattie shaws
and barley

for vision to see how the world should be,
rather than how it is
we give you our thanks and praise this day
Lord of the Harvest
for children playing with their pals
and the chance to meet with family and friends
we give you our thanks and praise this day
Lord of the Harvest
as we offer our praise and thanks
we cannot do so while forgetting the needs and pain and sorrow of the world
and we offer these to you this day too.
For those who stand against racism
may we stand with them
and search ourselves, where we have fallen short
personally and institutionally
for those who feel overwhelmed by responsibility
realising decisions they make will not please everyone
but they make those decisions in good faith and love
for those who are sick and ill
who cannot be comforted by their closest loved on
our hearts cry out
for all the hearts who long to know your warm embrace
have found it online
and fear it will be lost, and they will be rejected
we pray
for those who long for things to return to “normal”
we pray
for those who we love
we pray
for those we struggle to love
we pray
God, Father, Son and Spirit
Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer
we pause, to bring you the prayers for people, places and situations which are on our hearts this day
