In the darkness
the dimmest of lights
shines bright
see
in the manger
the light
burning brighter than all
the Light of the World
in the world
bringing life
light to all humanity
through the courage of Mary
the trust of Joseph
the faith of the shepherds
the watchfulness of the magi
entered and was revealed in the world
as flesh and bone
living among us
Jesus
our saviour
our Wonderful Counsellor
our Mighty God
came
and comes anew this day
bringing hope, peace, joy and love
for us all
and for the whole world
this Christmas morning
the great light has dawned
