For time to rest and reflect,
we give you thanks, Lord God
for space to pause from the busyness of our lives and the world
we give you thanks, Lord God
for your generous provision, in our lives, in our communities, in your world
we give you thanks, Lord God
for the beauty and intricacy of the earth
we give you thanks, Lord God
for those close to us, with whom we share our homes
we give you thanks, Lord God
For friendships and social connections
we give you thanks, Lord God
for our faith in Christ Jesus, and this church we are part of,
we give you thanks, Lord God
for all the provision we receive from you
we give you thanks, Lord God
as we reflect on your generosity to us
we ponder too all those situations where your will is not done
where homes are filled with fear
we pray, Lord God
where people are isolated and lonely
we pray, Lord God
where power is self-serving
we pray, Lord God
where lies and misinformation causes harm and distrust
we pray, Lord God
where temptations are succumbed to
we pray, Lord God
where the earth is plundered
we pray, Lord God
unite us, Lord God
this time of Lent
with you, and all the Church
in this town
this land of ours
your world
to pray and act united in love
for your glory and honour
in Christ’s name
and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit
always seeking the kingdom
today and always
Amen
