Praise the One who is God

God
who spoke
whose very Word
brought everything into being
God
the relationship of love in the three
invites us
even us
into that embrace of love
unconditional, unbounded, unashamed love
Praise the One who is God
who in love
asks us
even us
to worship God
in prayer, in hymns, in service and in sacrifice
in this time and place
and all the days of our lives
and we bow
bow with reverence and longing
in love at the source of our joy, our being, our love
to deepen our love
and to quench our thirsty souls
Praise the One who is God
who brings us living water
to fill us
refresh us
to cleanse and renew us
[pause]
as we gather at the living well
we realise how tainted we are
we gaze into the clear water
recognising how we need to be clean
we need to confess our sin anew
in the name of Christ,
the living water
may you be washed, cleansed, refreshed
in his name
to worship this day
and serve God all your days
All these are prayers offered through Christ Jesus
in whom we gather
and through whom we pray
