How do we name your works, Lord God
those works which are more numerous than the stars in the universe or the grains of sand on the earth’s beaches
they are wonderful
marvellous
astonishing
from the expanse of the universe
to the intricacy of a dandelion head
all placed in their positions
by your command
how awesome it is to know you as our God
the creator, maker and shaper of everything
which was and is and is to pass
we bow today
in worship at your throne
bringing our prayers
our song
our meditation on your word
joining our praise with the people across heaven and earth in the never-ending hymn of praise
connected to one another
through our common humanity
and shared faith in the living Christ Jesus
Christ Jesus
your worldwide church speaks many languages
all connected to speaking your love into the world.
Where our words have failed to articulate love
forgive us, we pray
forgive us and, through the power of the Holy Spirit descending on us anew today
fill us with love
and give us the languages to speak your love into your world
